I mold them into all kinds of crazy poses, so to speak, and enlarge the recognizable (cat) character traits. Their laziness, appetite and longing for attention. The humor often lies in such a funny combination, a special pose, a naughty look, cheerful and colorful patterns. My big source of inspiration for these cats was our cat 'Pluisje'. A large, long-haired and very sweet Norwegian Forest Cat." Susan Ruiter was born on November 6, 1969 in The Hague. She learned at an early age that creative thinking is the basis for discovery. After training at the Fashion Academy, Susan took several courses and workshops that developed her existing interest in art. She followed several specific classes at the Vrije Universiteit and workshops with various renowned artists. For Susan Ruiter, the challenge lies in depicting movement and emotion. This resulted in the recognizable voluptuous ladies. The famous Colombian artist Ferdinando Botero is a great source of inspiration for this style. Susan Ruiter lives for her passion; every day she is busy making art. The works are made up of thick layers of paint. The cozy and colorful cloths can be seen as a reflection of Susan's positive character. Moments from everyday life are cheerfully depicted. Having tea together, cozy with the dog on your lap, cooking with friends and sometimes even a sexy appearance. Susan Ruiter is now an established name in the visual arts. In the past 25 years she has exhibited throughout the Netherlands and her work is available at various galleries in the Netherlands and abroad. The work inspires, motivates and creates a pleasant environment. The joy is gone! Susan has her own studio annex exhibition space in Vlaardingen. Her works can be admired in several galleries, including in The Hague, Brielle, Amersfoort and Middelburg.
