Large industrial table made from a cast iron base of a late Victorian factory sewing machine from the famous Singer Manufacturing Company in New York. About 1870.
The base comes from a production setup with several sewing machines that are centrally driven by belts and a steam engine.
The original cast logo of The Singer Manufacturing Company New York is mounted on one of the two cast iron legs, which is quite unique because most of the legs used in the setup do not have this.
The base has been refinished in satin black. The thick table top was made by a Dutch master furniture maker from solid Frisian oak and finished in hard wax.
The table top and base can be dismantled. Table top can be sanded and waxed again if desired.
