The Siesta chair, designed by Norwegian designer Ingmar Relling in 1965, is an iconic piece of Scandinavian design. The chair is a fine example of functional aesthetics and minimalism, the core principles of Scandinavian design.
Features of the Siesta chair:
Frame: The frame is made of curved plywood, which gives the chair its light and elegant look. This construction form makes the chair both sturdy and flexible.
Seat: The seat and back are covered with black leather cushions, which appear to hang freely but are well supported by the frame, providing comfort and ergonomic support.
Dimensions: H78 X W74 X D78, seat height 44 cm.
The chair has become popular around the world for its timeless design and seating comfort and is one of the most famous Norwegian furniture designs of the 20th century. Westnofa was responsible for the distribution of this chair at the time, bringing the design to international attention. Today, the Siesta chair is still produced and appreciated as a classic of modern furniture design.
About these specimens: Concerns the Siesta model with low back. The wooden frame is dark stained,
has a black leather cushion and matching black cords that go through the canvas rings.
Condition: These armchairs with a beautiful age-related patina are in exceptionally good condition; in terms of frame, canvas and leather cushion. Is without flaws. Even the luxurious supple leather is still in very good condition!
In short wonderfully comfortable armchairs and beautiful interior objects for spoiled (vintage) design lovers.
