The lamp is equipped with a technically sophisticated yet aesthetic mechanism: By means of a Plexiglas wheel and a metal ball connected to it by visible wire ropes as a counterweight, the lamp is infinitely height-adjustable. The cantilevered swivel arm and the lamp head can be rotated on their own axis.
The Baltensweiler couple developed this luminaire in 1955. Originally designed for their own use, it later went into series production for the first time with a run of 10 units.
