A framed 1971 drawing by Dutch artist Piet Klaase (1918-2001): -Signed lower right. -Framed in a wooden frame with passe-partout and glass plate. -Dimensions approx: Frame, 56 h x 64 w x 2½ d cm. Image, 30 x 40 cm. -Condition: drawing is in good condition. Please also see all photos for your own impression. -Very nicely framed, can go right on the wall. Information about the artist: Piet Klaasse (Sloten, September 1918 - Eemnes, November 2001) was a Dutch watercolorist, graphic artist, graphic designer, illustrator, lithographer, painter, draftsman and drawing teacher. -Education: Akademie van beeldende kunsten (The Hague) 1937-1940 on the advice of Paul Citroen. Piet Klaasse worked in Amsterdam and lived in Eemnes since 1964. After working as a drawing teacher at the Montessori Lyceum in Amsterdam, Piet Klaasse taught for 34 years at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (and its predecessor) in Amsterdam (from 1947 to 1981). For the illustrations of Sagas and Legends of the Low Countries by Eelke de Jong, he received a Golden Brush in 1980. Subjects of his art: figure representation, Jewish genre, landscape (as a genre), war, horse representation, portrait, musician figures, especially Jazz musicians.
