Biography Born in 1945 in Stuttgart, Germany, Peter Hotter grew up in the shadow of the ravages of the Second World War, a period that profoundly affected his childhood and influenced his art. The son of an amateur painter mother and an architect father, he was exposed from an early age to a creative environment that nurtured his imagination. At the age of 15, he began experimenting with oil painting, quickly discovering a passion for abstraction. In 1963, Peter moved to Berlin to study at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he was influenced by artistic movements such as Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism. His early works were marked by a dark palette and introspective themes, reflecting his desire to understand the traumas of his past and those of his country. In the early 1970s, however, he made a radical turn in his style, adopting bright colors and dynamic forms that expressed a new, optimistic vision of life. In 1973, he held his first solo exhibition at Galerie K, Cologne, to critical acclaim for its boldness and originality. His paintings, characterized by flowing compositions and innovative use of color, quickly attracted the attention of collectors and art critics across Europe. Hotter then traveled the world, drawing inspiration from diverse cultures and incorporating elements of nature into his work. Despite his success, Peter Hotter has always chosen to stay out of the spotlight, preferring to let his art speak for itself. Today, although only a few of Peter Hotter's works can be found on the Internet, the quality of his painting is undeniable. His creations are imbued with vibrant colors and evocative shapes.
