Gonçalo Mar:
The appeal was constant, it was just a matter of time, Mar's interpretation of the environment around him as an artist had to be painted. By the age of 12, he was already drawing the figures of his imagination with a bit of chalk in the asphalt. Over the years, his choice of career came naturally. During his studies - he graduated in fashion design at F.A.L. - he applied for a position at a Portuguese animation studio - "Magic Toons" - as a draughtsman. It was at this time, in '98, that he had his first experience of graffiti.
Since then, driven by his artistic convictions, Mar has sought constant evolution together with the graffiti movement, which is evolving on a global scale. He also works with various national fashion brands. Known by his peers for his characters, he stands out for the way he constructs his characters and moods, giving them lines and shapes that make them unique.
- Mar is one of the first professional graffiti artists in Portugal, having left his job as a fashion designer for the Portuguese brand Station.

- Since 2002, Mar has taken part in 42 gallery and museum exhibitions and produced 37 collective graffiti street art shows.
In the course of his artistic career, he has befriended and painted on walls alongside graffiti and world street art giants such as Sainer, C215, Robert Proch, Os Gemeos, Risk, Bellin, Magrela, Case and Tasso of the Maclaim Crew, among many others of international renown. Graffiti scene.
From the Portuguese scene, Mar has painted with Ram, Nomen, Utopia, Vhils, Odeith, Bray, Klit, Mais Menos and many others. Part of Portugal's two most active and futuristic crews: Tunders Crew and Arm Collective, the latter with Ram only.
From 2015 until today, the artist has created installations, murals and canvases acquired by galleries and collectors worldwide and created countless graffiti commissions for all kinds of brands and companies. Recently honored by the local authority that saw him grow as an artist, with the Medal of Cultural Merit.
