Product description
Jeanne Moreau (still very young!) "Vivre c'est prendre des risques." Painting from a series of three. Famous "fumeurs": Jeanne Moreau, Jacques Brel, and Jean Paul Belmondo. Portraits of two of the latter are also available. Sides canvas co-painted, but the work is framed in black wooden tray frame. Renée de Vries has been drawing and painting since childhood, even then inspired by her uncle, the Limburg visual artist Ru de Vries. She briefly attended the Rietveld Academy, but learned most from the Amstelveen artist Dirk Annokkee, with whom she was a '1 on 1' apprentice studio from 1983-1987. Her work has no fixed style, but does have its own style. Colorful work, but also work in black/white/grays and shades of blue. Figurative/realistic, but also often abstracted, letting reality loose on the canvas. After living in Leiden for 23 years and running three galleries cum studio there, she moved to The Hague in 2022 and now has her studio at home.
