Product description
Vintage table lamp from the 1960s by the brand Rotaflex. This UFO-shaped lamp provides a very atmospheric light.
Rotaflex was founded in 1953 by Bernard Stern who ensured that in just a few years the company became one of Britain's most prominent. Rotaflex received several awards including the coveted iF Design Award in 1957.
The type of plastic used to manufacture the lamp was invented by Rotaflex in collaboration with the French company A.R.P. - L'Atelier de Recherche Plastique. The A.R.P was founded in 1954 by Pierre Guariche, Michel Mortier & Joseph-André Motte and stopped barely 3 years later.
The lamp is in nice vintage condition. The plastic has a small stain inside here and there which is not uncommon with this type of lamp. They are part of the patina and are also not distracting. Furthermore, the wiring was replaced where the cord has a switch.
