Very nice offset print by M.C. Escher called Air and Water 1, original is from 1938 and measures 43.5 cm x 43.9 cm.

Escher applies his signature method of plane filling in this work. Due to their respective shapes, the birds and fish fit together like puzzle pieces. But unlike in "Circle," there is no transformation here. It is the space between the fish that takes the form of the birds and vice versa. The birds change downwards into water, and the fish upwards into air.
