Product description
Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish artist and one of the most influential figures in art history, known for his role in the development of Cubism. His work, which spanned painting, sculpture, ceramics and printmaking, evolved constantly, experimenting in different styles and techniques. The lithograph by Pablo Picasso, dated Dec. 5, 1950, and numbered No. III, is part of the folder Le Visage de la Paix (The Face of Peace), a series of 29 lithographs each featuring a poem by Paul Eluard. The lithograph in this series shows an abstraction of a face, possibly a female profile, from which rises a dove - the global symbol of peace. The focus is on the powerful image of the dove radiating joy and hope, and at the same time on the serene and impassive facial expression of the portrait. image: published by Mourlot in Paris. The lithograph is professionally passe-partouted (35 x 28 cm) and backed. A limited edition of 2000 printed on Velin paper year: 1950 quality: excellent signed: printed in plate dimension passe-partout: 35.0 x 28.0 cm (h x w) image size: 13.4 x 19.4 cm (h x w)
