Jos Hameleers, etching,
lower right hand signed and dated 97, Honthem,
edition 19/80
Jos Hameleers, born February 6, 1948 in Sint Pieter (Maastricht). Father Nol lived from 1897 to 1975 and mother Mary from 1905 to 1999.
Married to Marianne ter Meulen in 1974.
Two daughters: Reineke (1977) and Marte (1980).
My parents had a horticultural business against St. Pietersberg.
I come from a family of 6 children, of which I was the last.
My father sang with the Mastreechter Staar and the church choir.
My brothers sang Gregorian and Byzantine while Belcanto sounded from the radio on Sunday afternoons. I myself play classical guitar.
In 1973 I graduated from the Stadsacademie in Maastricht.
Since then I have been working as an independent painter/graphic artist.
1978 moved to Mheer (see also here and here).
A village among the hills of southern Limburg.
In 1999 a dream came true when I moved my studio from the living room of our half-timbered house to a new, spacious studio next to the house.
