Product description
Beautiful oil on canvas painting by the famous Dutch artist Jerre Hakse.
40 cm wide and 50 cm long and made in 1993.
Hand signed on the front and back without title.
Jerre Hakse (86) is a Frisian artist whose neo-expressionist paintings stem from a deep passion for colors and shapes. For more than 60 years he has been creating unique works of art that transport the viewer to fantastic worlds. His paintings are full of surprising details that spark the imagination: vast beautiful landscapes, bizarre biotopes, mysterious underwater worlds. Jerre Hakse has had a special relationship with colors since he was a child. He says himself, "I practically 'ate' tubes of color As a child I knew what red and yellow tasted like."
In the late 1980s, his work was featured in a spectacular retrospective at the Princessehof Museum in Leeuwarden.
Today his work is once again in the spotlight as evidenced by the major exhibition of his work in Germany, which is still on view today.
