János Bittenbinder (Transylvania, 1946) is fascinated by skies, clouds and skies, in all kinds of poignant shapes and colors. Masterfully, he plays with light. So too on this pastel (untitled) from 1989. The base is blue, in all sorts of intense and threatening hues, but the gaze is drawn to the center of the work, to a lighter hole, surrounded by yellow, orange and dark blue peaks. Again and again a feast for the eyes. Size pastel 49 cm. (w) x 63 cm. (h), with frame 81 cm. x 101 cm. Fitted with fine silver-gloss polished aluminum frame. Signed by the artist.
