Beautiful and very high quality smoking set consisting of a heavy ashtray and a box, made from hand-carved orange alabaster by Romano Bianchi, Italy, 1960s.
These beautiful objects can of course also be used for other purposes, the ashtray like a vide poche or trinket jar, the box with lid can also serve perfectly as a jewelry box or to store small treasures.
Cigarette sales peaked in the 20th century, people were allowed to smoke in the office, in the cinema, in restaurants, indoors and outdoors.
