My fascination for trees has given me quite some exposure, I call them Tree portraits.
It is always clearly visible what happened in a tree’s life. It has grown free and without restrictions, reaching for the sky, but also has it been brutalized, bent in the wind and storms, torn, sawed into, cut by axes, tormented, in various seasons, but always a house for birds and insects. Trees live in a different time zone, aging far beyond our human selves.
What we experience is a time flash for them. And there they are, they seem so quiet.
