Padouk is a tropical hardwood species distinguished by its typical deep red color. The wood is very weather-resistant and can take a beating. Therefore this type of wood is ideal for exterior paneling such as frames, door and window frames and doors. By furniture makers, padauk is mainly used for numerous pieces of furniture. Especially for furniture that has to withstand rough handling, padouk wood is very suitable. Think for example of tables and chairs that regularly crash into each other through use.
