Education:
Gerard 't Hart studied at The Hague Free Academy of Visual Arts from 1955 to 1960.
He lives and works in The Hague.
Gerard 't Hart creates various types of works; from sculptures and chalk drawings to wall reliefs. 't Hart draws inspiration for this from the many trips he has made, which he was prompted to do by his work on the ships of the Holland America Line. His art honors Buddhist, Hindu and ancient American cultures, depicting ancient myths, customs and rituals. The most important element in his work is always color; 't Hart uses it to create an atmosphere of vitality.
Exhibitions and awards:
In addition to exhibitions in Switzerland and France, 't Hart's work has been exhibited several times in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
