In 1941, Frans was born in the white town of Thorn. He received his high school education at the gymnasium and then Frans continued his studies at the HBS before eventually graduating as a mechanical engineer from the U.T.S. In addition, Frans completed an education in higher business management. In his work as a mechanical engineer, he was involved in many technical constructions. A dimension that is emphatically evident in his art. He chose art. Perhaps a creative mother and several Thorn artists drove him in this direction. He received his training at the academy of Genk, Arendonk and the Kunstcollege Weert in painting, drawing, sculpture, free graphics and art history. Currently, Frans lives in the Limburg town of Beesel where he also has a studio.
