Good day to you! I am offering you a rarely well-preserved and equally rare butler's tray coffee table from England in the 1850s. It is made of solid mahogany and presents itself on its folding stand in a timelessly elegant Regency style. The removable butler's tray has folding sides with inset brass hinges. Carrying handles are attached to each side. The turned stand is adorned with decorative lion feet made of solid brass. The almost perfectly preserved piece of furniture is in its original condition. Even the retaining straps from almost 200 years ago are still original. Naturally - and typical of the time - the coffee table is hand-polished in shellac. Its design is reminiscent of the "Barcelona" designer series by Mies Van der Rohe over 100 years later with its curved X-shaped legs. Simply timeless. Relevant furniture stores commission carpenters to make modern reproductions of this table design for them. These are in the €1850+ range and are currently completely sold out. The design is currently enjoying great popularity. Antique pieces from around 1900 lack all the ornamentation that this piece has and unfortunately cannot compete with this unique offer in terms of condition. Ladies and gentlemen, the motto here is buy and enjoy! A comparable piece is unlikely to be found in the near future. I hope you enjoy this piece! The coffee table was always treated with care and only used for display purposes. Its environment over the past decades has been smoke-free and so it also emits a pleasant, natural smell. No pets! There are slight, superficial scratches in the surface of the shellac and the heel of a superficial water stain, which would be easy to restore, but is hardly noticeable to the eye of the beholder. After all, this is an antique from the century before last!
