Product description
A rare collector's item and a classic piece of Dutch modernist design: a set of 8 stacking blocks designed by Ko Verzuu. ADO stands for Arbeid Door Onvolwaardigen, and was founded in 1925. "Labor by Indigents" refers to the limited labor power of rehabilitating TB patients. The smallest black block has remnants of the paper label that would have been shaped like a tree (the ADO mark identifies it as a 1950s production). The 1950s production blocks also have shaped corners, a later development of the design.
In used condition with some superficial wear and tear.
