Product description
Beautiful rare Art Nouveau clock from 1915. This model clock was designed by the famous ceramist Klaas Vet.
Klaas Vet worked around 1900 at Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland in Gouda and then at Plateelbakkerij De Distel in Amsterdam, where he experimented with matt glazes. In 1903 he founded Plateelbakkerij Jb Vet & Co in Purmerend together with his brother Jacob. In 1906 the company burned down, after which they founded the Arnhemsche Fayence factory in 1907 where this clock was manufactured. The decor of this clock 'Gelri' was probably designed by Willem Hartgring. The clock is in perfect condition and is equipped with a well-running French-made movement.
