Extremely rare Art Deco dinner set manufactured by Royal Doulton during the 1930s.
The design is called Marquis, an original Art Deco style set from the 1930's which was also dubbed the casino style. It is predominantly white with five concentric black circles around the rim of the pieces which is offset with a wider circle of yellow. This set is part of Royal Doulton's movement into the Art Deco period to compete with the emerging popularity of Clarice Cliff in the 1930's era.

4 soup plates 24,5 cm / 9 in diameter (one plate with a small chip on edge, 1 has some glaze spidering)
