This classic by Arnold Merckx is ideally suited as a dining and living table for smaller spaces. Thanks to the central column in the middle of the table, there is no need to sacrifice legroom. The thin tabletop ensures that there is enough room for practically any chair. The table top is made of mussed maple wood. Truly a beautiful creation. In fact, a maple tree is mussed for a reason. A tree is mussed if it has twigs all over the trunk and thus in the wood has small knots all over. Such wood is often called root wood" It is also called knotted maple and in English the knots are called "Bird's eyes".
