The Knoll Studio Diamond Armchair is a well-known design by Harry Bertoia. Florence Knoll met Harry Bertoia while studying at Cranbrook and she was sure he could design something brilliant. She convinced him to join Knoll, where he was given the time and space to experiment. Bertoia was a true artist, and design was an outlet for him - in addition to his painting and sculpture. After long positioning and searching for the right form, he finally created this diamond-like shape from welded wire steel. The lounge chair is part of the only, but extremely successful, furniture collection he ever designed. In addition to the well-known chrome version, the chair is also available in white or black, protected with a Rilsan coating. Chairs with this coating can also be used outdoors.
The Diamond armchair is 85 centimeters wide, 75 centimeters high and 75 centimeters deep. The seat is tilted back and has a height of 46 centimeters at its highest point.
The chairs are in nice vintage condition with minimal signs of use.
The fabric of all is in perfect condition with no discoloration, stains etc....
2 chairs still have the original Knoll sticker.
1 chair has some rust on the back along 1 side (but is treatable).
New price for the fully upholstered version: 3448 euros!!!
