Completely refurbished set of four Gispen 1231 Condition; like new In this set of four Gispen 1231 chairs, the padding has been replaced with a comfortable cold foam. The fabric of each chair is different, but all are red. Four chairs, four fabrics. One a Hallingdal, the next Tonus (both by Kvadrat) then one in DePloeg's Bolster and one in the authentic Manchester rib velvet. A unique end result in those different shades of red. History The design of this set is by A. Cordemeyer and is a chair from the Cirrus collection and is the successor to the 1960 original. It is a universal four-legged chair without armrests. The frame was originally available in two versions with and without armrests. The only difference from the first edition is the finish of the frame. Initially, the finish came in glossy. In 1982, the chair was reintroduced to the market. Finished with graphite black lacquered legs or silk matt chrome legs. The chair was seen in the office world as a visitor's chair but of course it does super at a wooden dining room table. Especially in this version in different shades of red.
