For decades JCJ Vanderheyden [Den Bosch, 1928-1912] made a contribution to the art climate in the Netherlands that should not be underestimated. His work is represented in many collections. Museum Boymans van Beuningen and the Van Abbemuseum made retrospective exhibitions of his work. The paintings, photographs, reproductions and video images provide a glimpse into Vanderheyden's mind: the laboratory or archive in which he was searching for The Great Analogy of Things. What does color do? How does form work? What does an image tell? JCJ Vanderheyden has built a new universe with his oeuvre, challenging you to look beyond the horizon.
