Bas van Pelt (1900-1945) opened a shop called My Home in 1931, just before the start of the great crisis in the midst of major changes in the last century. He has one large window placed in the facade, in the lively center of The Hague, a flat screen avant la lettre, so that everyone can see inside how things can be done differently. In his opinion, modern furniture was light and airy, transparent, made of a tubular steel frame, combined with wood.
