He was known for his skilful use of wood, steel and leather, and for his ability to create furniture that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Sorensen's most famous creations include the "Oxford" chair, the "Vejle" armchair and the "Viking" chair. His furniture has been featured in numerous design exhibitions and museums around the world, including MoMA in New York and the V&A Museum in London. Henning Sorensen passed away in 2009, but his legacy as one of Denmark's most talented designers lives on in the furniture he created and the influence he had on modern design.
