After the Second World War, Reinhold moved to Switzerland, where he founded his own industrial design studio in 1950. He worked for many major Swiss companies, including household appliance manufacturer Zyliss, for whom he designed the famous snake-shaped vegetable peeler. Reinhold was known for his functional, minimalist approach to design, as well as for his ability to create practical, elegant products. He won numerous awards for his work over the years, including the prestigious Red Dot design award in 1997 for lifetime achievement. Beyond his design career, Reinhold was also a talented musician and played several instruments, including clarinet and saxophone. He died in 2002 at the age of 88.
