Parisi designed numerous pieces of furniture, including the "856" lounge chair (1955), the "735" table (1957) and the "Iride" floor lamp (1970). He also worked with his wife Luisa on architectural projects, furniture design, jewelry and glassware. Domenico Parisi was born in Italy in 1916. During the first half of the 1930s, Parisi trained in building construction. In 1936, he joined the practice of rationalist architect Giuseppe Terragni and co-founded the Alta Quota and Gruppo Como architectural groups. A true jack-of-all-trades, Parisi worked as a film director in the late 1930s. The year 1945 was pivotal in Parisi's career, as it was then that he organized the 1st exhibition of contemporary furniture in Como. Two years later, he married Luisa Aiana, a former student of Gio Ponti. The following year, they founded the La Ruota studio. Many artists and designers work together in this unique creative space! Ico Parisi is a designer recognized by his peers: he has been a member of both the Art Club of Milan and the Associazone per il Disegno Industriale.
