In 1949, Rohe Noordwolde founded his own rattan furniture manufacturing company, which quickly became one of the country's most important. His creations, characterized by their simplicity and elegance, were highly appreciated and helped popularize rattan furniture worldwide. Over the years, Rohe Noordwolde continued to develop new designs and experiment with new materials, notably leather and wood. He worked in collaboration with many renowned designers, such as Cees Braakman and Friso Kramer, and won numerous awards for his work. Rohe Noordwolde died in 1994, but his legacy in rattan furniture lives on. His creations are still highly sought-after and are exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.
