Olivier (1939) is the designer of such famous models as the Djinn lounge chair (1964) featured in Stanley Kubrick's film "Space Odyssey". The Fourre-Tout series (1972) are also legendary pieces. Pascal (1943 - 2014) left his mark on design with creations such as the Câlin sofa (1997), the Samala collection (2000) and the Lune d'argent (1987) and Tutti Frutti (1992) chairs. Olivier and Pascal Mourgue were born in France in 1939 and 1943 respectively. They are both graduates of the Ecole Boulle and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. Olivier has worked for major companies such as Renault, Mobilier International and Airborne. He has also taught at the Brest School of Art. Pascal has also designed furniture for major publishers such as Cassina, Knoll and Cinna. At the end of his career, he devoted himself to artistic creation. Both have received numerous awards, including the Grand Prix National de la création industrielle (1991). Their creations can be found in such fine museums as the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
