Over the course of his career, he designed numerous pieces that continue to seduce lovers of Scandinavian design to this day. The Chieftain armchair or n°P4-107 designed in 1949 is a timeless seat. Finn Juhl was born in Denmark in 1912. He studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Copenhagen, and soon made a name for himself with his unique style. He then spent ten years working for the Vilhelm Lauritzen company. In 1945, he founded his own design studio and designed numerous pieces of furniture. At the same time, his reputation grew both at home and abroad. In 1961, he became famous across the Atlantic for the design of a conference room at the United Nations headquarters. During the same period, the designer was awarded 5 gold medals at the Milan Triennale. Various exhibitions have showcased Finn Juhl's incredible work, including a retrospective at the Danish Museum of Art and Design in 1982.
