Hundevad began his career as an apprentice cabinetmaker with a furniture manufacturer in Copenhagen. After completing his apprenticeship, he worked for several Danish furniture companies before setting up his own business in 1947. The company specialized in the production of teak furniture, which was very popular in Denmark at the time. Hundevad designed numerous pieces of teak furniture, including shelves, coffee tables, chests of drawers and wardrobes. His creations were characterized by their simplicity and functionality, and their use of natural materials such as teak and rattan. During the 1950s and 1960s, Hundevad's designs were highly sought-after, not only in Denmark, but also abroad. Today, his furniture is considered a classic of Danish design and is highly sought-after by collectors and vintage furniture enthusiasts.
