Over the course of his prolific career, he has created over a hundred pieces (furniture, watches, objects, etc.) inspired by literature, cinema and art. He has worked with major publishers such as Amar, Artemide, Cassina and Alias. The Miro chair is one of his best-known pieces. Carlo Forcolini was born in Italy in 1947. He studied fine arts at the Brera Academy in Milan. In 1969, he helped found Alias, Oylight and Némo as a designer and entrepreneur. He left his homeland in 1978 to settle in London until 1984. He founded Alias UK and then became director of Artemide Great Britain. During the 80s, Forcolini took part in numerous exhibitions around the world (Tokyo, Sydney, Oslo etc.). He also organized meetings, such as in Toronto, and various seminars at leading schools. He has been coordinator of the Forcolini Lab creative workshop since 1999, and vice-president of the European Design Institute since 2012. His furniture can be found in major museums such as the Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
