After studying architecture in Paris, Fernandez began his career working for French designer Jean Prouvé. He went on to work for other renowned designers and architects, including Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand. In the 1950s, Fernandez began working for the French car company Facel Vega, where he designed the interiors of the brand's luxury cars, including the famous Facel Vega HK500. He also designed interiors for yachts, aircraft and hotels. In 1960, Fernandez set up his own design agency, where he continued to design interiors for residential, commercial and institutional projects. He worked for a number of prestigious clients, including French President Georges Pompidou. Henri Fernandez received numerous awards for his work throughout his career, including the Prix de Rome in 1948 and the Grand Prix National de l'Architecture in 1982. His elegant, innovative creations continue to inspire designers the world over.
