She has worked for major brands such as Georg Jensen, Fredericia, Kvist and Getama. She not only designed furniture, but also jewelry and textiles. The "Bench for two" chair, designed in 1989, and the "Œuf suspendu" armchair (1959) are timeless pieces. Nana Ditzel was born in Denmark in 1923. She trained as a cabinetmaker, then studied at the Ecole des Arts et Métiers and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduating, she and her husband Jorgen Ditzel founded their design studio in 1946. Her creations were directly influenced by the post-war period: she sought innovative techniques and materials, turning to rubber and glass. She then moved to London from 1968 to 1986, where she and Kurt Heide founded the Interspace furniture chain. She has won numerous awards, including the Gold Medal at the International Furniture Design Competition in Japan and the Royal Designer Award from the Royal Society of Arts in London. She has exhibited her work in cities such as New York, London, Milan and Stockholm.
