During the 70s, 80s and 90s, the designer created legendary pieces such as the AEO chair in 1973, the Torso chair for Cassina in 1982 and the Re and Régina pair of chairs in 1991. He has worked with leading companies such as Vitra, Driade and La Murrina. He is renowned for his innovative use of various materials. Paolo Deganello was born in Italy in 1940. He graduated in architecture from the University of Florence in 1966. He began his career as an urban planner, working for the city of Calenzano. He later founded the Archizoom Associati studio with Gilberto Corretti, Massimo Morozzi and Andrea Branzi. They became the bearers of radical Italian design. Following the end of the group in 1974, he opened his own architecture and design practice. He quickly met with great success, and his work was exhibited in 1972 at the famous "Italy: The New Domestic Landscape" exhibition at MoMa. Some of his designs are now on display at the Vitra Design Museum, the Denver Art Museum and the Design Museum in London. He has taught at several universities: in Florence, Venice and Portugal.
