He works with major Italian and international companies such as Kartell, Vitra, Flos, B&B Italia, Maxalto, Sanitec Group Pozzi Ginori... He has created legendary pieces that are now exhibited in major museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. These include the Mobil storage unit (1993) and the Battisa rolling table (1991). Antonio Citterio was born in Italy in 1950. He graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic Institute of Milan. In 1972, he founded a studio dedicated to industrial design. With Patricia Viel, he founded an architecture, design and graphics agency in 1999. His work has been widely acclaimed: he has received two Compasso D'Oro awards, the Mies van der Rohe prize and the Royal Designer for Industry award from the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. In the 2000s, several publishers devoted monographs to his work. Considered a benchmark of Italian design, he now teaches architecture at the University of the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. He is also a member of the Italian Design Council, which reports to the Italian Ministry of Culture.
