In 1953, he founded Tecno, a firm specializing in technology and innovation. This enabled him to design legendary pieces that are still seductive today. The D70 convertible sofa (1954), the P32 swivel chair (1956) and the P40 chaise longue (1954) all offer remarkable comfort while being truly aesthetic. Osvaldo Borsani was born in Italy in 1911. He studied architecture at the Milan Polytechnic until 1937. Even before graduating, he won a silver medal at the Milan Triennale for his Casa Minima project. He then joined the family furniture production business alongside his father Gaetano Borsani. In 1953, he decided to found the Tecno firm with his twin brother Fulgenzio, and achieved great success with functional furniture featuring impressive technology and innovative design. The company also produced furniture for such great names in Italian design as Gio Ponti and Mario Bellini. Borsani was also one of the founders of the famous Ottagno design magazine.
