Product description
To visit a thrift shop usually yields little more than stock generated sadness and the loss of an hour one will never win back. Every now and then, however, something wonderful stands out among the heaps of sorry trash and here, ladies and gentlemen, we have such an item. The sight of this gem of a jug immediately transports the observer to a terrace on the San Marco Square, Venice, during the ‘50s or a cafe somewhere on the Cote d’Azur, during the same era. Your order of pastis was served along with this bottle filled with water. A sight for sore eyes, indeed. It looks like quite a bit of handicraft went into shaping the jug. The texture of orange peel, the grip, the paint work, all look done by hand, which makes this object quite unique. There are some chips and other traces of use, but they only add to the authentic look. There’s an old cork firmly stuck in the bottle neck. Inside there’s an unknown fluid, maybe it’s the potion of Eternal Youth, perhaps a 60 yrs old fine brandy or just stale water. That’s up to the lucky buyer to discover!
Some chips and signs of usage around the bottleneck
