Product description
Mid-century vintage desk with 2 drawers, circa 1960. The top is golden blond and brown formica with a "faux bois" effect, with a black formica border (see photos.) it rests on a black tubular steel frame, with inverted hairpin legs with their original end caps, and a footrest bar.(see photos.) there is a plywood storage compartment, with 2 chamfered formica-lined drawers, which can be opened using the carved handles on the underside of each. The 2 drawers are clean and open and close correctly. Only a very slight resistance on the second drawer, which should disappear over time with use. The piece is in very good overall condition, original and vintage with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time on the overall structure, top, edges, drawers and metal structure. (See various photos.) Please note: a very slight height discrepancy (0, 4 cm), between the center and the edges of the top, which is to be expected for a piece of this age. We believe the metal structure may have been refurbished at some point by a previous owner. The desk is stable and sturdy. It has only been gently cleaned and polished in keeping with its original patina. All photos are taken in natural light, so colors may vary depending on the brightness, angles and perspective in which they are viewed. Dimensions per drawer: h: 8 cm X w: 29 cm X d: 36, 5 cm; space between drawers and metal legs: w: 47 cm; height of footrest: 20, 5 cm.
