Product description
Art Deco side table from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The side table is handmade and designed by Carlos Zipperer It can be dated between 1930 and 1940. The piece is made of Monkey Puzzle wood or as we call it from a monkey tree. The small table has a top of glass underneath which is a piece of art with real wings of butterflies. It would be forbidden to make in this era because these butterflies are protected. The artwork and the small table is in fair condition, but you can see in the photos that some paint has come off at the top under the glass top. The wooden table itself has suffered a break in the wood and has been repaired by gluing, but certainly does not affect the beauty and stability of the object. It remains a beautiful and uniquely preserved piece!
The round leg with its column can be unscrewed, it has threads in the wood. You can unscrew this column in two parts, The first part has once suffered a fracture and is glued.
