Experience a piece of rare design history with this exceptionally beautiful, unique vintage Thonet chair, executed in Art Nouveau/Jugendstil style.
In stunningly good condition and with barely visible signs of use, this iconic piece of furniture exceeds all expectations given its age.
What makes this chair truly special is the anomalous and rare sophisticated technique used to connect the curved beech rib under the seat to the back legs, a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
Usually this rib is applied horizontally directly under the seat between the four legs.
The elegant upholstered seat exudes luxury, while the rare black backrest offers a beautiful contrast.
Dating from around 1900, the design represents the refined Art Nouveau/Art Nouveau style for which Thonet is famous. This particular example was manufactured in the 1960s by ZPM Radomsko in Poland, a former Thonet factory that continued to produce these iconic chairs without a license, still using the original Thonet machinery.
Measuring 89 cm high, 40.5 cm wide and 55 cm deep, this chair is not only a striking work of art, but also functional with excellent seating. The seat height of 47 cm ensures a comfortable experience.
