Supercircle" coffee table designed by arne jacobsen, piet hein and bruno matthson for the publisher fritz hansen. Rosewood veneer top mounted on a metal base with 4 legs, finished with a rubber glide. This rare model combines arne jacobsen's typical base with a top featuring the highly studied geometry of the "supercircle/superellipse" series developed by piet hein and bruno matthson for high tables. This coffee table also features a rosewood veneer top with magnificent flames. The piece bears the designer's, manufacturer's and seller's labels on the reverse of the top, and the metal base is also marked with various seals, making it possible to date its production to the early 1970s. Dimensions: Length/width: 60cm. Height: 47cm. Pick-up in 1180 brussels, delivery possible at buyer's expense.
Very good overall condition, both in terms of the top and the base, the only flaw being a tiny chip (2mm in diameter) in the varnish layer of the rosewood top (see photo).
