Rare original framed lithograph by the painter Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), born in Liège of Dutch parents, a founding member of the Cobra movement, along with Karel Appel, Constant, Asger Jorn, Dotremont, Joseph Noiret, Lucebert and Alechinsky. Artist's copy E/A Overall dimensions: 54 x 61.5 cm - Work 29 x 37 cm Guest of honor at the Salzburg Music Festival, Guillaume Corneille worked for several years on the theme of classical music (to the sound of his favorite composers: Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Gustav Malher, Erik Satie, etc.). Like Pierre Alechinsky, he also produced numerous works based on musical scores. Identified as an important figure in the renewal of abstraction in Northern Europe, from 1967 Corneille gradually moved towards a rich, colorful Nouvelle Figuration that coordinated with the Pop Art taste of the 1960s and 1970s, and exhibited alongside Andy Warhol, Arman, César and others.
