Set of 4 Alias Highframe 40 indoor or outdoor chairs, designed by Alberto Meda in 1991, Italy.
These stacking chairs are in black fire retardant polyester mesh with lacquered aluminium frame.
The chairs are in very good condition, normal wear on the aluminium base.
Born in Lenno Tremezzina (Como), in 1945, he graduated in mechanical engineering from the Milan Polytechnic.
In 1987 and 1989 he designed two historic chairs for Alias: lightlight and softlight.
The former is on show in the permanent collection in the MoMA in New York. He lives and works in Milan.
