This “Diplomat” table or desk lamp, also often called Model Z, is the successor to the Decora Z model that was designed in the 1950s by the famous architect and designer Louis Kalff and produced by Philips in the late 1950s. 60's, 70's to the 80's. Since the model was released after the retirement of Louis Kalff , but is completely identical to the Decora model except for a different shape of lampshade, it is generally assumed that this model was designed by the Philips design team with the approval of Louis Kalff . Philips label present on the brass plate on the lampshade.
