Product description
Aquatint etching by Johnny Friedlaender published in the 1960s by the famous La Hune publishing house & gallery in Paris. Hand signed. Print run 20 of 95. There is a "blind stamp" from La Hune in the paper at the very bottom left. Johnny Friedlaender was a prominent German/French artist of the 20th century whose works have been exhibited around the world. He was a pioneer of aquatint etching (a technically difficult artistic process). From 1958, La Hune in Paris became not only a gallery but also a publisher of prints. By exhibiting them and then often publishing some of their proofs, Jacqueline and Bernard Gheerbrant revealed the engraved work of young artists, such as that of Johnny Friedlaender. Johnny Friedlaender subsequently became famous and exhibited around the world. Size including frame: 50.5 x 67 cm.
